The Department of Geography, Allahabad Degree College, has an excellence in the field of geographical teaching, learning, and research, which ensures better career opportunities to the learners of Geography. The department is endowed with eight highly qualified faculty members (two senior professors and six assistant professors) and one lab assistant. The faculty members of the department have different expertise and vocational capabilities in various domains of geography teaching and research.

    The department offers three courses i.e. B.A., M.A. /M.Sc, and doctoral program (PhD). Expert-based orientation programs cum seminars, quiz, and field activities, etc. have been organized from time to time to enrich vocational capabilities and research orientation among students. The department is enriched with a library, a cartography lab, lecture theaters, field survey instruments etc.

   The department is in high demand in terms of students’ enrollment at UG & PG levels. We nurture healthy teacher and student relationship by ensuring interactive teaching-learning and orientations; as teaching methods, we follow both traditional classroom teaching as well as the use of technological innovations i.e. Geographical Information System (GIS), remote sensing, digital Cartography and field based research activities etc. to make the subject more relevant, up to date and job oriented.
