The Department of Mathematics at Allahabad Degree College has been a significant pillar of academics since its inception in 1989. Located in the Science Building of the Kydganj Campus, the department began with a vision—to cultivate analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deep appreciation for the elegance of mathematics. Over the years, the department has grown both in scope and strength. Currently, there are four faculty members, comprising one professor (Professor B. P. Yadav) and three assistant professors (Dr. Pooja Singh, Dr. Seema Mishra, and Dr. Neeraj Kumar Tripathi). Each faculty member brings not only knowledge, but also a passion for teaching and research, nurturing generations of young mathematicians. The department offers undergraduate courses and postgraduate courses. Recognizing the growing demand for advanced study, a Postgraduate program in M.Sc. Mathematics was introduced in 2016, with an intake capacity of 50 students per year. The college’s well-stocked Science Library is home to a rich and diverse collection of mathematics books—providing a strong foundation for learning and research. Through dedicated teaching, and a commitment to student growth, the department continues to foster a culture of inquiry and intellectual curiosity.
