Orientation Session on Vocational Education
An orientation session was organized by the department of Psychology, Allahabad Degree College, in collaboration with Bharat Scout and Guide. In alignment with the progressive vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the department of Psychology, Allahabad Degree College, successfully conducted a Vocational Education lecture and orientation session in collaboration with the Bharat Scout and Guide, State Training Centre, Prayagraj.
The event aimed to promote skill-based learning among students and enhance their career readiness through practical exposure to emerging fields like web development, animation, and digital technology. These courses are designed to equip students with hands-on competencies that complement their academic learning and open diverse employment opportunities.
The NEP 2020 emphasizes that vocational education should be integrated at all levels of education, with a target of 50% student participation by 2025. This session was a step toward achieving that goal and preparing students for both the job market and entrepreneurial ventures. Students gained valuable insights into how vocational training can improve their performance in competitive environments such as interviews, internships, and project-based work. The sessions also highlighted the relevance of such skills in today’s rapidly evolving employment landscape. The college is committed to fostering holistic development through regular skill development programs and continues to support the goals of Skill India and Atmanirbhar Bharat by empowering its students through education that is both meaningful and future-oriented.
